The principal investments are Call and Fixed deposits with financial institutions regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya, Treasury bills, Government securities, and credit rated or publicly approved Commercial papers with a maximum weighted average tenure of 13 months. It offers capital preservations and interest income credited monthly.

Why Equity Fund

The CIC Equity fund invests in a diversified shares portfolio. Principal investments are shares listed in the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) with a minimum allocation of 60%. A portion of the portfolio is in cash and cash equivalents to meet  the liquidity needs of the fund.

The fund is ideal for clients with long-term investment horizons with little regard to the inherent short-term price movements of shares. The funds offer semiannual dividend income and capital growth.

The CIC Fixed Principal investments are; bonds issued by the Kenyan government and investment-grade corporate bonds with more than 60% allocation. Income is a medium to low-risk fund that invests in a diversified bonds portfolio.

A portion of the portfolio is invested in cash and cash equivalents to meet the liquidity needs of the fund. The fund offers semiannual dividends and conservative capital movements.

RETURNS

Returns consist of dividends, capital gains, interest portion and miscellaneous income from offshore investments. Distributions are done quarterly. We recommend reinvestment of the distributions into the funds order to benefit from compounded growth.

At withdrawal it is important for the investor to consider their investment goal and fund values. Remember you only realize a gain or loss when you liquidate your investment.

CIC Dollar Fund is suitable for clients who prefer US dollars denominated investments with a short to medium-term horizon. The fund generates return through investing in a diversified portfolio of high-quality money market and fixed income instruments with a maturity profile that ensures adequate liquidity is available to meet the withdrawals.
